Visiting Malta in April is a great choice for those looking to explore the Maltese cities without the soaring Summer temperatures. There are plenty of events in Malta during April, such as Easter parades in Valletta and the Three Cities, the strawberry festival in Mġarr and the fireworks festival at the end of the month. Take a Three Cities Harbour Tour on a traditional dghajsa taxi, dine on fresh seafood Al fresco in Marsaxlokk and explore the silent city of Mdina with fewer tourists. Then, why not revisit in the Summer to enjoy the Maltese beaches, and enjoy an island tour of Comino and The Blue Grotto.

The UV index will be moderate at this time of year, so not something to worry about for the average person. However, if you're going to be outside for long periods it's worth wearing a broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen and UV-blocking sunglasses. Remember that bright surfaces, such as water and sand increase UV exposure.
