What should I pack for a holiday in Rome during July?
With the weather being hot, t-shirts, shorts and loose dresses are good choices for clothes. Loose, cool clothes are the way to go. Sun hats and sunscreen are a must for Rome in July. If you're planning to visit the Vatican, make sure you pack appropriate clothing. You'll need to cover knees and shoulders to visit the Vatican. A scarf is a good idea too, incase of any spontaneous visits to other churches.

Being such a hot location during the summer, you're able to spend most of your time at outdoor attractions. Cool off with a delicious gelato and find some shade for a break. Days are long in Rome so you can really make the most of your time, by staying out into the slightly cooler evenings.

How hot is it in Rome during July?
The temperature reaches around 31℃ during the daytime in July, falling away to 22℃ at night. The UV index will be high at this time of year, so protection against skin and eye damage is needed. Try to limit exposure between 10am and 4pm. Apply broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen every few hours, even if it's cloudy, or more frequently after sweating or swimming, and wear UV-blocking sunglasses too, and bear in mind that bright surfaces, such as sand and water increase UV exposure.
