What's the weather like in Santorini in September?

Conversant Traveller September is a wonderful time to visit Santorini, with the warmth of the summer lingering through to November. This is most definitely beach weather, so don’t forget the sunscreen. Days are mild, with average temperatures reaching highs of 26˚C and lows of 19˚C. Meanwhile, evenings are cooler but still balmy, with night-time temperatures rarely dropping below 17˚C. The sea is often at its warmest in September too, since it’s had all summer to heat up. So, if you fancy going swimming in the Aegean, or sunbathing on the volcanic beaches, this is the time to do it. Answered by Conversant Traveller

What should I pack for a holiday in Santorini in September?

Conversant Traveller The great weather in Santorini at this time of year means that this will feel like a summer holiday. So, pack loose-fitting, light clothing to cope with the soaring daytime temperatures. Ladies should take sun dresses, shorts and kaftans for exploring the caldera villages and lounging on the beach. For men, shorts and shirts will do the trick wherever you go on the island. Sunhats and sunglasses are also an essential part of your holiday wardrobe for Santorini. If you plan on hiking on any of the island trails, then comfortable outdoor footwear is a must as the terrain is often uneven. Remember to pack a jumper or light jacket for potentially cooler evenings. Answered by Conversant Traveller

What's great about Santorini in September?

Conversant Traveller September is one of the best months of the year to visit Santorini. The island is less crowded than it is during July and August, plus the weather is still very warm and pleasant for sightseeing. Hotel prices can be cheaper during September too, which makes visiting this glamorous island a more affordable prospect. As Santorini sees fewer tourists this month, it means that booking tours and making restaurant reservations doesn’t need to be done months in advance. It’s definitely easier to be spontaneous in September than it is in the height of the summer. Answered by Conversant Traveller
