What's the weather like in Croatia in July?
Southern Croatia in July is really very hot and sunny. It is perfect sunbathing weather, but we visited Cavtat, which is on the coast south of Dubrovnik, so we did visit the city and do some other sightseeing. If I am honest, it was probably a little too hot to be doing a lot of walking and exploring, especially around less shady sites like the Dubrovnik city walls. And if you are out sightseeing it is best to stay hydrated, wear a hat or head covering and stay out of the sun during the hottest hours of the day.

What should I pack for a holiday in Croatia during July?
You will definitely need sunscreen and shades, plus your swimwear for by the pool. I found that taking my kindle filled with books and having my iPod and phone full of good tunes was the best way to relax whilst sunbathing, so both these are must pack items. For sightseeing, I packed floaty cool dresses and comfortable shoes, plus a hat. For evenings, local restaurants in Cavtat were very casual, and the balmy evening weather meant that it was still warm enough to walk around without a cardigan or coat.

What's great about Croatia in July?
I loved Croatia as it was such a lovely relaxing holiday. I normally take a two week holiday and enjoy a mixture of days by the pool and sightseeing, but in my two weeks in Croatia I stayed by the pool a lot more! The coast of Croatia is a great place to take boat trips, we were able to take a water taxi by boat to Dubrovnik instead of a regular car, which made a nice change. As for food, the fish and sea food in Croatia was probably some the best I have ever had!

The temperature reaches around 27℃ during the daytime in July, falling away to 14℃ at night. The UV index will be high at this time of year, so protection against skin and eye damage is needed. Try to limit exposure between 10am and 4pm. Apply broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen every few hours, even if it's cloudy, or more frequently after sweating or swimming, and wear UV-blocking sunglasses too, and bear in mind that bright surfaces, such as sand and water increase UV exposure.

You're unlikely to experience any strong winds. Expect a light breeze that picks up slightly at times in July. With warm air temperatures and high humidity, any breeze will feel warm but refreshing.
