Weather during February
February is the coldest month to visit Amsterdam, but you probably won't find a lot of snow as temperatures don't tend to drop below freezing. There's less chance of rain in February compared to Autumn or early Winter. But it's a great excuse to warm up with a savoury pancake stop (or two!)

Weather during April
April's weather can be a little hit and miss. There are 8 rainy days a month, and the temperature ranges from 7 - 13C. In the sunshine, it can feel rather pleasant, we had a delightful day exploring the tulips. However, if its a grey day, a jacket is required. Have a few back up museum visit planned for rainy days. Plan for indoor dinners rather than picnics and grab the warm moments when they appear.

Weather during May
The weather in Amsterdam in May is pleasant, with warm temperatures which get higher towards the end of the month. It's often breezy, with petals from the blossom trees blowing around the city.

Weather during August
We visited Amsterdam in August and I was surprised that the weather was very similar to the UK. As this was our second visit to the city (we had last visited in May and the weather was glorious), I expected beautiful sunny days to explore Amsterdam. The weather was very mixed in August, yes we had some sunshine, but we also had a day when the temperature dropped and we had rain during the evening. Despite the cold and rain we still managed to get out and explore the city, and when the sun did shine and the temperature went up to around 18 degrees, it gave us the chance to soak up the sunshine in Amsterdam.

Temperatures are similar to that in the UK so expect some nice days, wet days and some cooler days too. Temperatures average 15 - 19°C during the day.
