September is a fantastic month to holiday in Ibiza. Less busy than the peak summer months, but very warm both day and night. The sea temperature is also ideal for swimming. We've looked at the most up-to-date weather data for Ibiza, covering the last 12 years up to 2024, plus we've asked our team of travel bloggers for their first-hand experiences in order to answer the most frequently asked questions about Ibiza weather in September.

What's the weather like in Ibiza in September?

She Get's Around The weather is warm in September, the perfect end of summer sun, that isn't blistering hot but plenty warm enough for sunbathing and soaking up the sun. It might start to get a bit cooler in the evenings, with temperatures dropping to about 18 degrees, though in the day you are likely to see temperatures in the mid to late 20's. Answered by She Get's Around

What should I pack for a holiday in Ibiza during September?

She Get's Around It depends what kind of holiday you want. You could go full Ibiza hipster vibes, with flowing skirts and dresses or cotton shirts or if you're hanging out in the fancy bars and restaurants then something light but stylish is key. If you're heading to the clubs then make sure you pack your glitter and glow sticks. Otherwise, it's all the usual essentials for a summer holiday, swim suits, sun scream and sun glasses! Answered by She Get's Around

What's great about Ibiza in September?

She Get's Around If you're looking to party then September sees some of the Ibiza closing parties, with mega club nights across the island. Make sure you book in advance though, and many of the club tickets aren't cheap. Alternatively it's a perfect time to head across the water to Formentera, a smaller island a short boat ride away. The island will be quieter so you can enjoy some of the secluded beaches in peace. I recommend hiring a jeep to get around the island, you can book this in advance or when you arrive on the island. Answered by She Get's Around

How warm is it in Ibiza during September?

The temperature is extremely stable in September with average highs of 26℃ and lows just 2℃ lower at 24℃. Of course, the high humidity will make it feel even hotter. The UV index will be moderate at this time of year, so not something to worry about for the average person. However, if you're going to be outside for long periods it's worth wearing a broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen and UV-blocking sunglasses. Remember that bright surfaces, such as water and sand increase UV exposure.

On average, there will be 4 rainy days during the month, amounting to 69.5mm in total. That's broadly comparable with the amount of rain we see in England during the summer months, and would be considered dry. Due to the high temperature and humidity, you might expect lots of thunderstorms, however they're actually fairly infrequent at this time of year. On average, September will see just 3 days that produce a storm.

Is it windy in Ibiza during September?

You're unlikely to experience any strong winds. Expect a gentle breeze that increases to moderate at times during September. The high humidity and warm temperature will make the breeze feel warm, so any cooling effect will be limted.

The water around Ibiza reaches a very pleasant 26℃ during September. This is very warm, and will feel bath-like. People who normally feel the cold will find this temperature perfectly acceptable.
