The weather in Naples in October is delightful, mostly sunny, with temperatures of 23 degrees Celsius. The entire time I spent in Naples in October was sunny and warm. Whilst there might be a chance of rain (5 days a month in October), I didn't experience it at all during my stay there.

What should I pack for a holiday in Naples during October?
Mostly summer clothes and a light jacket for the evening. Don't forget your bathing suit as the sea is warm and there are plenty of places to swim and sunbathe along the Margelina area of Naples, and on the rocks around Castle St Angelo. A hat and sunglasses are also recommended, as the sun is very strong.

What's great about Naples in October?
October doesn't see as many tourists as the summer months in Naples. The weather is still great for visiting, and the evenings warm enough to enjoy dinner at outdoor terraces - don't miss Trattoria da Nennella, a wonderful local restaurant with no menu, where the home made dishes just keep coming. Don't worry, the final bill will be around 10 euros or so.

The temperature reaches around 23℃ during the daytime in October, falling away to 17℃ at night. The UV index will be moderate at this time of year, so not something to worry about for the average person. However, if you're going to be outside for long periods it's worth wearing a broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen and UV-blocking sunglasses. Remember that bright surfaces, such as water and sand increase UV exposure.
