The nights come in quickly and can feel quite a bit cooler, I found layered clothing perfect to easily go from day to night.

What should I pack for a holiday in Garda in September?
There are so many beautiful places to explore in the Garda region, so make sure your packing includes a smaller rucksack that you can use for day trips. Mosquito repellent is essential! I packed my own and also had to top up at chemists locally, so take plenty. Layered clothing works best in September, think t-shirts and skirts that can be layered with leggings and cardigans so you’re always prepared.

What's great about Garda in September?
The great thing about Garda in September is that it’s less crowded. You can enjoy delicious pizza, pasta and gelato without worrying about pre-booking a restaurant table. The roads are quieter too, so hiring a car is the perfect way to explore. Check out the annual alpine festival in Riva Del Garda, and the air show in Desenzano.

However, if you're going to be outside for long periods it's worth wearing a broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen and UV-blocking sunglasses.
