About Trentino-South Tyrol

Trentino-South Tyrol, in Northern Italy, is a region of overwhelming nature, beautiful landscapes, and endless outdoor activities. And all of that with a German/Italian touch! Almost forty percent of the population is German-speaking, the rest speaks Italian. This mixture of languages was created by the merger of the Italian-speaking province of Trento and the mainly German-speaking province of Bolzano-Alto Adige (Bozen-South Tyrol) in 1948. Although the cultural differences between the two provinces are great, the area is united by the impressive Dolomites mountain range. In both summer and winter, the region is a great destination for a family holiday. Visit one of the beautiful lakes, like Lake Como and Lake Garda, or take a guided mountain hike through the Alps.
