Our guide to the weather in Lanzarote during February
Lanzarote is a winter-sun destination, and so you'll find February is pleasantly warm. It's an ideal month for hiking - not too warm with clear skies and little rain. The sea is warmer than you might expect for February and is comfortable for swimming. We've looked at the most up-to-date weather data for Lanzarote, covering the last 12 years up to 2026, plus we've asked our team of travel bloggers for their first-hand experiences in order to answer the most frequently asked questions about Lanzarote weather in February.
What's the weather like in Lanzarote in February?
The weather in Lanzarote in February is mostly sunny, like the rest of the year on the island! The southern part of the island, in particular, has minimal rainfall and plenty of sunshine, making it a great place to visit from the UK for some winter sunshine. Daytimes have temperatures reaching from 18 to 22 degrees Celsius on the warmest days in February, and dropping to around 13 degrees during nighttime. It's not dissimilar to a warm spring in the UK as cloud cover and wind can make you feel cold and reach for a light cardigan, but the calm and uninterrupted blue skies make for perfect sunbathing weather!

What should I pack for a holiday in Lanzarote in February?
Most daytimes in Lanzarote in February are perfectly warm enough for beachwear. Think shorts and t-shirts, dresses and flip flops for the daytime. Take a light cardigan for windy days and a light raincoat in case you’re unlucky and catch one of their two days of rainfall for the month!
If your hotel pool is heated then you’ll definitely want your swimwear, but if not then the pools are pretty cold in February! The same for the sea.
Nighttimes are noticeably cooler, so you may prefer jeans or trousers for the evenings and light jackets in case of breezes. February in Lanzarote is not dissimilar to a warm spring in the UK where you can start to wear summer clothes in the daytime when the sun is out, but you need a cardigan or something warmer to put on for cloudy days or when the sun disappears in the evening.

What's great about Lanzarote in February?
One of the best things about visiting Lanzarote in February is being out of the summer season, it is relatively quiet! I say relatively as it’s still a popular spot for UK tourists to get some winter sun, being so close, and there is a school half term in February so this will be a busier week. You can also get much better prices for hotels and package holidays in February compared to the summer months, so it’s a great time to visit if you’re on a budget. The flight is around four hours long, making it a relatively quick destination to get to for some winter sun. February is often the coldest month in the UK with average temperatures of 7 degrees, so stepping off a plane in Lanzarote in 18-20 degree weather feels amazing! Like stepping right into spring or summer!

On average, in February you'll see rain on just one day in the month. In other words, you shouldn't see any of the wet stuff. You're not likely to see a thunderstorm during your trip.
