What should I pack for a holiday in Cyprus during April?
Although generally good, there is always the chance that the weather can vary in April. It’ll definitely be cooler in the evenings. With that in mind, it's a good idea to bring a light jacket or sweater as well as your usual holiday gear. A hat is a good idea too. If you’re going to visit the villages of the Troödos Mountains it's worth remembering that it’ll be slightly cooler as it’s at a higher altitude.

Cyprus is known for its natural beauty, and in April the wildflowers are in full bloom. The landscapes are breathtaking especially on the coastal walks near Paphos and in the Troodos Mountains. April is also a month of cultural events, such as the Limassol Wine Festival, which showcases the best Cypriot wine and food. April is a shoulder season which means that the tourist crowds are thinner, making it easier to explore the island's many attractions like the ruins at Paphos and Ancient Kourion. With peak tourist season still a month or two away, April is a good time to visit Cyprus as prices are more affordable.

How warm is it in Cyprus during April?
The temperature reaches around 22℃ during the daytime in April, falling away to 14℃ at night. The UV index will be high at this time of year, so protection against skin and eye damage is needed. Try to limit exposure between 10am and 4pm. Apply broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen every few hours, even if it's cloudy, or more frequently after sweating or swimming, and wear UV-blocking sunglasses too, and bear in mind that bright surfaces, such as sand and water increase UV exposure.

On average, there will be 2 rainy days during the month, amounting to 30.5mm in total. That's much drier than we see in England during August, and therefore not something to be concerned about. There's a small chance that you'll catch a thunderstorm during your trip.
