During the day is quite mild, where you can get by without wearing coats a lot of the time. Rain in minimal at this time of the year and we only experienced one lot of heavy rain during one evening.

What should I pack for a holiday in Bruges in October?
When visiting Bruges in October you should plan for a variety of weather. During the day you can get by with either thin trousers or shorts with a top. A light jacket would be ideal for when the evenings get a little chillier. Sandals might be okay during the day but trainers are a good bet if you're going to do a lot of walking.

What's great about Bruges in October?
October is a great month for visiting Bruges as you start to get all of the autumn colours but with the weather of late summer. You can explore all day without getting too hot, making it comfortable to stay out as long as possible. I loved not having to carry around a heavy coat, making exploring much more fun. Visiting Bruges during October means being able to sit outside in the many cafes and enjoy the views!

What's the temperature like in Bruges during October?
The temperature reaches around 15℃ during the daytime in October, falling away to 10℃ at night. The UV index will be moderate at this time of year, so not something to worry about for the average person. However, if you're going to be outside for long periods it's worth wearing a broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen and UV-blocking sunglasses. Remember that bright surfaces, such as water and sand increase UV exposure.
