What should I pack for a holiday in Bruges in April?
We visited Bruges as a day trip from a cruise ship. I wish I had taken a larger tote bag from the many gifts I bought from the excellent chocolate shops for which Bruges is known. Don't forget to visit a cafe for an old fashioned hot chocolate experience complete with marshmallows.

What's great about Bruges in April?
Bruges is a beautiful place and especially so in the Spring. It can however get busy. For a more pleasant experience visit mid week. This is a great time to take a boat trip on its canals and waterways but book in advance if you can to avoid the big queues for the boats.

What's the temperature like in Bruges during April?
The temperature reaches around 13℃ during the daytime in April, falling away to 7℃ at night. The UV index will be moderate at this time of year, so not something to worry about for the average person. However, if you're going to be outside for long periods it's worth wearing a broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen and UV-blocking sunglasses. Remember that bright surfaces, such as water and sand increase UV exposure.
