How hot is it in Australia during December?
The temperature reaches around 34℃ during the daytime in December, falling away to 23℃ at night. Remember that in December it's summer in the souther hemisphere! The UV index will be very high at this time of year, so you'll need to protect your eyes and skin. Avoid sun exposure between 10am and 4pm where possible. If outdoors, find shade, wear sun-protective clothing, wear UV-blocking sunglasses and generously apply broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen every hour or so. Don't be fooled by cloudy skies! Remember that bright surfaces, such as water and sand will increase UV exposure.
Does it rain in Australia during December?
On average, in December you'll see rain on just one day in the month. In other words, you shouldn't see any of the wet stuff. You're not likely to see a thunderstorm during your trip.
Is it windy in Australia during December?
You're unlikely to experience any strong winds. Expect a gentle breeze that increases to moderate at times during December. With moderate humidity, any breeze will have a very welcome cooling effect.
