Accommodation

Borgo Casa al Vento is a converted medieval farmhouse decorated with traditional Tuscan flair, with simple furnishings and warm, earthy colours taking centre stage. Original ceiling beams and terracotta tiles work beautifully with the wrought-iron bed frames and antique lighting. Standard Borgo rooms are utterly charming, with unique features from fireplaces to wood beams, and some even come with access to a private lounge.

Dining

The dining here is typically intimate and relaxed, with a menu of rustic, locally sourced produce prepared on site by passionate Italian chefs. Game from the nearby hunting reserve, homemade pasta, vine tomatoes, extra virgin olive oil and Tuscan bean soup make for delicious and hearty dinners. The borgo's vaulted cellar plays host to an excellent stock of wine from the Chianti region and beyond, and has been featured in numerous wine magazines.

Spa

Unlike many sleek and modern spas, the spa here is warm and traditional, with a soothing caldarium (hot bath), steam shower and aromatherapy, plus local treatments designed for relaxation. Enjoy an olive oil massage, wine bath or chocolate bath to take your love of Italian food to the next level.

Location

Fabulously remote, Borgo Casa al Vento is a charming cluster of wood and stone in the midst of rolling hills and vineyards. This beautiful region is ideal for wholesome bike rides, walks and horse riding, and the estate has its own small lake for fishing too. Go wine-tasting, take a cookery class or if you'd like to mix in some history and culture, visit Florence (90 minutes away).
