What's the weather like in Madrid during December?

ScribbleStu I visited Madrid in early December and found the temperature quite pleasant at around 15 degrees. It was mostly clear and sunny while I was there, but we did see a bit of rain on one way. Answered by ScribbleStu

What should I pack for a holiday in Madrid during December?

ScribbleStu Leave the shorts at home! While it's very unlikely to be too cold, you'll want jeans, jumpers, and a jacket or coat for the evenings. Prepare for some rain, and don't forget the walking shoes - it's a pretty big city! Answered by ScribbleStu

Whats's great about Madrid during December?

ScribbleStu As with many city breaks in December, it's all about festive vibes. Madrid is covered in Christmas streetlights during December and it's an impressive sight. I don't think I've ever seen as many and they're absolutely beautiful. There are Christmas markets too, although they don't quite pack as much of a festive punch as those seen in Germany, France, Italy and the Eastern European countries. It's still a great time of year to visit the city when the temperatures are cooler and you're able to explore without overheating Answered by ScribbleStu

What's the temperature like in Madrid during December?

The temperature reaches around 12℃ during the daytime in December, falling away to 5℃ at night. The UV index will be moderate at this time of year, so not something to worry about for the average person. However, if you're going to be outside for long periods it's worth wearing a broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen and UV-blocking sunglasses. Remember that bright surfaces, such as water and sand increase UV exposure.

Does it snow in Madrid during December?

Possibly. There's a chance of snow during December but not as much as you might think. Check the local forecast before you leave home so that you can pack appropriate footwear and clothing.

Does it rain in Madrid during December?

On average, there will be 3 rainy days during the month, amounting to 48.6mm in total. That's broadly comparable with the amount of rain we see in England during the summer months, and would be considered dry. There's a small chance that you'll catch a thunderstorm during your trip.

Is it windy in Madrid during December?

You're unlikely to experience any strong winds. Expect a light breeze that picks up slightly at times in December. With cool air temperatures, any breeze will feel cold.
