What should I pack for a holiday in Porto during September?
Suncream, sunglasses, light clothing and a jacket/cardigan for late evening. Comfortable footwear, as Porto is pretty hilly and some streets are quite uneven.

What's great about Porto in September?
A quieter, more relaxed vibe than Lisbon - temperatures are still lovely and warm but slightly cooler than high summer in July and August. Lots of outside seating to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a sangria!

How warm is it in Porto during September?
The temperature reaches around 25℃ during the daytime in September, falling away to 17℃ at night. The UV index will be moderate at this time of year, so not something to worry about for the average person. However, if you're going to be outside for long periods it's worth wearing a broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen and UV-blocking sunglasses. Remember that bright surfaces, such as water and sand increase UV exposure.

On average, there will be 3 rainy days during the month, amounting to 73.4mm in total. That's broadly comparable with the amount of rain we see in England during the summer months, and would be considered dry. There's a small chance that you'll catch a thunderstorm during your trip.

You're unlikely to experience any strong winds. Expect a light breeze that picks up slightly at times in September. With moderate humidity and mild air temperatures, the breeze will have a slight cooling effect.
