We've looked at the most up-to-date weather data for Amsterdam, covering the last 12 years up to 2021, plus we've asked our team of travel bloggers for their first-hand experiences in order to answer the most frequently asked questions about Amsterdam weather in July.
How warm is it in Amsterdam during July?
The temperature reaches around 21℃ during the daytime in July, falling away to 15℃ at night. The UV index will be moderate at this time of year, so not something to worry about for the average person. However, if you're going to be outside for long periods it's worth wearing a broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen and UV-blocking sunglasses. Remember that bright surfaces, such as water and sand increase UV exposure.
Does it rain in Amsterdam during July?
On average, there will be 19 rainy days during the month, amounting to 53.4mm in total. That's broadly comparable with the amount of rain we see in England during the summer months, and would be considered dry. There's a small chance that you'll catch a thunderstorm during your trip.

26th January 2021 by Charlie, DistractedHow to spend 36 hours in Amsterdam
With Eurostar now going directly to Amsterdam from St Pancras, The Netherlands have never been so accessible. When planning what to do in Amsterdam, prep an empty stomach, pick a canal and get walking. Earlier this year, I had the realisation that even though travel = new, it doesn’t always have to be in new places. There’s a good handful of places, especially in Europe, that I have visited when I was younger that I’ve wanted to head back to and get a better appreciation for....

31st January 2021 by Backpacks and BunkbedsSightseeing in Amsterdam without a plan
So Amsterdam, a European capital which welcomes around 7 million visitors a year, and which has so much to see and do … yet I turn up in the Dutch capital having planned almost zilch. Well done me! This is Amsterdam without a plan! It’s very unlike me not to have a plan when travelling. I realise that most other travel blogs you might read will implore you to take you time and travel slow, allow some time for unplanned activities n’all that jazz, but I’m just not cut from that cloth....
