What's the weather like in Venice in July?

Fly Drive Explore We had 4 days of sun and the daily temperatures were in the mid to high twenties, slightly higher than the average. We were lucky to have the dry weather as June is usually the wettest month in Venice. The weather was perfect for exploring the city. We would definitely recommend getting out early to avoid the afternoon heat. Also, in the morning, the city is much quieter as the day trippers and cruise passengers haven’t arrived. What should I pack for a holiday in Venice in July?

Fly Drive Explore You’ll do a lot of walking as you explore the city so this may sound like a cliché, wear comfortable walking shoes. We know you're in Italy and want to wear your most stylish footwear, but save those for the evening. Also, try not to carry too much and please, for the sake of others, no big backpacks. We don’t know why people need to carry so much. They just annoy everyone as they wander around the narrow alleys and squares. Answered by Fly Drive Explore

What's great about Venice in July?

Fly Drive Explore Personally, we wouldn’t stay in the St Mark’s Square area as this gets very crowded, you’ll probably pay a premium too. We stayed in the Dorsodouro area of the city overlooking the Giudecca Canal. There were plenty of little bars and places to eat that weren’t tourist traps. The area has some very intersting museums and galleries to explore. Also, it is still within walking distance of St Mark’s Square which we recommend visiting in the evening / night. It is very atmospheric when the crowds have gone and you can really imagine how Venice must have been. Answered by Fly Drive Explore
