A visit to Kos in August is brilliant for visiting the many sandy beaches with clear waters. If you're looking to adventure away from the beach, then we recommend an island boat tour. You may even be lucky to spot some dolphins! If you have access to a car, bus or taxi, then a visit to the naturally heated sea pool springs of Embros Therme. If you visit early in the morning, or later in the day, the better chances you have of finding the springs quieter.

Try to limit exposure between 10am and 4pm. Apply broad spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen every few hours, even if it's cloudy, or more frequently after sweating or swimming, and wear UV-blocking sunglasses too, and bear in mind that bright surfaces, such as sand and water increase UV exposure.
