1st March 2021 by TravMonkey

I took a weekend city break to Prague with Jet2CityBreaks to discover its leafy laid back beer gardens, historic micro-breweries, nightlife, as well as some fantastic scenic walking tours around the city. Needless to say, I definitely recommend a visit, especially as it’s only a few hours flight away!...

Craft beer lovers weekend itinerary in Ghent

1st March 2021 by TravMonkey

I took a quick trip Ghent over a long weekend, taking advantage of how easy it is to get there with the Eurostar from London. I’ve been to Ghent a few times before and was always struck by how little people talk about it in comparison to Bruges, Brussels and Antwerp. I’ve always found this historic old university town fairly underrated in the grand scheme of things. Thankfully it means fewer tourists (although there’s still a fair few) and more local experiences on offer. If the lure of...

Exploring the ancient Roman Baths, Bath

25th January 2021 by TravMonkey

Don’t you always find that it’s places fairly close to home that you don’t tend to visit? Well it seems to happen to me quite often. For example, I had never ever been to Bath before even though it’s only about about two and half hours by car from London (one and a half hours on the train). I was pretty excited to have the opportunity to explore the ancient Roman Baths in Bath, England by torchlight....

25th June 2017 by TravMonkey

A quick chilled Menorca boat trip from our trip/conference (#mustseemenorca) out in Menorca, Spain in May. We had a brilliant time with 60 elite influencers out in Menorca, seeing what the island had to offer and learning at the conference. Met some lovely talented people and loved the island. I came back with so much footage that I decided to put out one just on the boat trip.......

5 adventurous things to do in Menorca

1st March 2021 by TravMonkey

Menorca is well known for being the mellow, relaxed and more low-key resident of the Balearic Islands, but just because it’s more laid back doesn’t mean there isn’t plenty of adventure to be had. Actually, it’s quite the opposite. There are plenty of adventurous things to do in Menorca and I’ve just scratched the surface to show you just what’s on offer....

Legal high you have to try - Zip lining in Como

1st March 2021 by TravMonkey

I discovered something more effective than a super-strong Italian double espresso to get me out of my early morning brain fog and slumber. To be honest, it actually felt more like I’d been hooked up to a drip full of the finest freshly brewed Italian coffee. “What is this legal high?” I hear you ask. Well, it was barely after 9 am when I felt the rush of speeding through the leafy tree tops of Caglio, hanging from a harness, helmet on and zip lining in Como....

Where to go horse riding in Menorca

1st March 2021 by TravMonkey

Firstly, a bit of a confession. Before visiting Menorca I wasn’t exactly “keen” on horse riding… I mean, horses can be quite scary creatures to many people. “What if you fall off?”, “What if your horse is crazy?” Are the two most common questions from people when you mention you’re off horse riding. Travel insurance is hardly reassuring either, the fact that a horse trek is on there as an adventure sport didn’t fill me with confidence!...

7 things to do in Riga in winter

31st January 2021 by TravMonkey

On the east side of the Daugava River, the old Riga is a UNESCO world heritage site and Riga’s historical centre, famed for its old churches and cathedrals. It’s easy for people visiting Riga to get stuck in the old town, but there’s so much more to Riga. Do spend plenty of time admiring the structurally beautiful Riga Cathedral and St. Peter’s Church, the cobbled Town Hall Square, but remember that the old town is only about 5% of Riga itself....
