About ParosParos is an idyllic Greek island, boasting a stunning coastline of golden sands and a skyline dotted with blue-domed churches. Its capital, Parikia, is a bustling port, with ferries travelling to nearby Santorini and Naxos, and a huge windmill standing guard over the town. The 13th-century Venetian Kastro Fortress is a must-see, while the old fishing town of Naoussa is a picture-perfect maze of whitewashed houses, tiny churches and blue-domed chapels. Paros is also renowned for its marble, which was used to carve the iconic Venus de Milo statue and Napoleon's tomb. For those looking to explore, the island is crisscrossed with walking trails, with the Environmental and Cultural Park of Paros offering seven routes across the peninsula, some of which provide stunning views of the surrounding Cycladic islands.
