Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in the Jordanian capital of Amman and transfer to your hotel to check-in for three nights. Enjoy dinner at the hotel. 

Day 2: Take a visit into the city of Amman. Continue north to Jerash or Gerasa, one of the cities of the Decapolis. See the Arc de Triomphe, the Oval Square, the Cardo, the Colonnade, the Temple of Aphrodite and the Roman Theatre. Later, visit Ajloun Castle before returning to Amman for dinner.

Day 3: Head to the east of the city to visit some of the most representative 'Castles of the desert' - buildings from the seventh to the 11th centuries, which were used as caravanserais, resting pavilions or as military forts for the defence of the territory. Then head to the Dead Sea for a dip, before returning to Amman in time for dinner.

Day 4: Depart to Madaba to visit the Church of San Jorge, housing the oldest known map of the Holy Land. Continue towards Mount Nebo, the geographical point from where Moses first spotted the Promised Land. Enjoy panoramic views of the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea and visit the remains of the Byzantine Church, featuring beautiful mosaics. Continue to Kerak, then head to Shobak Castle, located on the side of a mountain. Arrive in Petra and check into your hotel for two nights, before enjoying dinner.

Day 5: Set off on a full-day visit to Petra. Known as the 'pink city' and capital of the Nabateans, Petra is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Go through the Tomb of the Obelisks, discover the iconic Treasury, the Roman theatre, the royal tombs, the Sextius Florentinus mausoleum, the colonnade and the palace of the Pharaoh's daughter. Return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 6: Leave for Little Petra, a two-metre wide gorge with an architectural style typical of the Nabateans. Later, head to the desert of Lawrence of Arabia and embark on a two-hour 4x4 tour, driven by Bedouins. Head to your camp accommodation in Wadi Rum for one night and enjoy dinner in the evening. 

Day 7: Transfer to Aqaba in the Gulf of Aqaba, situated on the border of Israel. Check-in at your hotel for a three-night stay and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 8: Spend the day at leisure.

Day 9: Spend the day at leisure.

Day 10: Transfer by road to Amman and check-in at your hotel for one night.

Day 11: Transfer to the airport to board your flight back to the UK.
