Flight deal

9,000 additional Avios with every Iberia.com booking

This looks like a very generous Avios offer from Iberia. The airline is offering 9,000 bonus Avios for booking any Iberia, Iberia Express or Air Nostrum flights via iberia.com. The terms of the deal are as follows:

  • 9,000 bonus Avios per transaction, and 90,000 bonus Avios per customer in total
  • One-way or return flights qualify
  • Purchase a paid flight between 21 and 24 June 2018
  • Flights must be operated by Iberia, Iberia Express or Air Nostrum
  • You must have an Iberia Plus account and provide your membership details when booking
  • The bonus Avios must be used before 1 December 2018

Return flights to Madrid in September are currently in the region of £60pp, which means you're buying Avios 0.6p, which is extremely cheap. It gets better if you book an outbound and return flight separately as two singles. At £40 each way, you'll qualify for 18,000 bonus Avios meaning you're paying 0.4p for each one. This is far better than normal Avios promotions. To bag the full 90,000 Avios you'll need to book 10 separate flights.

One thing which isn't clear is whether you can transfer the bonus points to a BA Executive Club account. It doesn't appear that you can, however you may be able to transfer them to a Vueling or Air Lingus account and then on to BA.

It's a very interesting offer, and certainly the cheapest and most interesting way to earn Avios that I've seen in a while.

Important: Prices are correct at the time of publishing, however they are subject to change at any time depending on availability. Some promotional prices will be strictly limited by tour operators or airlines. Special terms and conditions may apply.
