Using Kayak, I found the above Wizz Air flights for £36pp. You'll need to let Kayak run for a while before the lowest price appears, because it's checking hundreds of travel agent prices to get the cheapest deal. Adjust the dates on Kayak, and then click through to the deal, which will take you to the Wizz Air website. While £36 for a return trip to Iceland is fantastic value, you can knock at least £8 per ticket by joining the Wizz Discount Club. The club costs 29.99 Euros to join for two people, and guarantees at least 10 Euros off each ticket. A club member will see this particular deal reduced to £20.98.

Of course, it's not worth purchasing Wizz Discount Club membership unless you're going to use Wizz Air at least twice per year. With their ever expanding network however, that might not be too difficult at all. Four new routes from London Luton have just been announced, serving Israel, Norway, France and Italy. In total, the airline serve 25 European destinations from Luton, 5 destinations from Birmingham and one from Bristol.

About Iceland

Average flight time: 03hrs and 15 mins

Marooned at the top of the world in the North Atlantic and with a population of less than 350,000, Iceland is the most sparsely populated country in Europe, yet is still manages to find its way to the top of every bucket list, and for good reason.

From its mighty ice topped mountains and volcanoes, to its geothermal lagoons, sparkling glaciers and of course its world famous light display, the aurora borealis, Iceland is quite simply breathtaking.

If you didn’t know of its existence, you’d be forgiven for thinking it a make believe world where mighty beasts roam free and warriors fight for the hands of fair maidens, no wonder then, that its impressive landscapes have been home to global hit TV shows sun as Game of Thrones and films like Star Wars, Thor and Prometheus among others. About Reykjavik

Average flight time: 03hrs and 15 mins

Located in the southwest of Iceland, Reykjavíc, the worlds most northern capital, combines modern design with quirky, colourful buildings, captivating art, wild nightlife and diverse culinary experiences.

Surprisingly cosmopolitan given its size, you’d be forgiven for thinking it a town rather than a city, but what it lacks compared with its more southernly neighbours, it more than makes up for with its array of quaint cafes that transform into high-end restaurants at night, its epic music scene and wide array of festivals.

Looking to indulge in its culture, see first hand the original Viking longhouses of its Settlement Exhibition, or take in its rich history at the National Museum. If its art you’re interested in, galleries pop up all over the place, showcasing both internationally recognised artists as well as many homegrown talents. Read our full destination guide here.
