Flight deal

£50 off all BA long haul flights this weekend

British Airways are running a spring promotion this weekend, offering £50 off all long haul flights booked before 23rd April. The saving can be made on any fare class, but obviously it's the impact on the cost of an economy ticket that will be most interesting.

To get the discount, you'll need to use the code BAMember50. You'll also need to be a member of the BA Executive Club. Membership is free - and you don't have to be an executive to join - so the offer is open to all. The discount is per person, so a couple could shave £100 off their total cost of travel.

Here are the highlights and main terms:

  • £50 off long haul flights booked before midnight on 23rd April 2018
  • Use code BAMember50
  • For travel between 21 April and 27 October 2018
  • BA Executive Club membership required
  • No minimum spend

How to get the discount

First, you'll need to log in to (or sign up for) the BA Executive Club. Then start your flights search from the blue button on this BA page. The discount will automatically be applied. If you use the main BA website, there is a box to enter the discount code, but we've heard that it's being rejected for some people, so the Executive Club route seems to be the best.

Is it worth it?

Yes! Let's take a look at an example:

You want to go to LA for one week in June. Let's say Tuesday 5 June to Tuesday 12 June.

Currently, a look at Google Flights will reveal non-stop fares that look like this:

Norwegian Air (no hold luggage, no food) £520
BA (with discount) £568
United £617
BA (without discount) £618
Norwegian Air (with luggage and food) £620
Virgin £644

You can see that, with the discount, BA is the cheapest full service fare.

I call that a decent deal. Let me know if you book anywhere nice!

Important: Prices are correct at the time of publishing, however they are subject to change at any time depending on availability. Some promotional prices will be strictly limited by tour operators or airlines. Special terms and conditions may apply.

The Scoop: Singapore

28th June 2023 by Stuart

Futuristic, cutting edge, hip and innovative mixed with traditional and multiculturally-infused: its an expansive, complex melting-pot of a city. Expect to see packed-out temples sitting alongside reflective sky-reaching, sci-fi-esque hotels and office blocks resembling gardens in the clouds. And then there's chic and boho shophouses serving all the latest edible and drinkable treats you can imagine, next to vast, maze-like "food malls" with tiny booths serving restaurant-worthy, shockingly...

British Airways Club Europe review: Is it worth the upgrade?

17th August 2023 by Paul

I recently had the opportunity to fly to Copenhagen with British Airways on a Club Europe ticket - the airline’s short haul business class service. It was the first time I’d flown Club Europe, so I was interested to see how the experience would differ from their economy Euro Traveller offering. Fast track security I had a late night flight out of London Heathrow T5 on Friday evening. I didn’t use the inclusive hold baggage allowance with my ticket, so having checked in online I...
